I was desperate for sims 2 again after my physical copies stopped working and I tried origins but had no luck. So, like you, I saw the $6.95 ultimate collection on eBay and was also skeptical because it seemed too good to be true. I figured if it was a scam I would be out 7 bucks but at least I tried. But it works!!
1. Teenage Dreams Sims 4 CC Pack by Caio. I love the two opposite ends of the spectrum you get with this sims 4 cc pack for teens. On one hand, you’ve got preppy, bright cc clothes and on the other, you’ve got darker, more alternative cc outfits. Here’s how to get it to show up: Navigate to your install folder and find your start file. For me this was Origin Games > Ultimate Collection > Fun with Pets > SP9 > TSBin. Launch Sims2EP9.exe, it will start the EA App if it isn’t running already and the game should launch. When you close out of it, it will appear back in your game library! If you have a previous version of The Sims 2 installed on your computer, such as a copy from the disks, but you would like the Ultimate Collection there are a couple of steps to follow. First, if you want to back-up your saves, custom content, and mods, you'll want to go to Documents/EA Games and right click on The Sims 2 folder.
The solution was launching the game in windowed mode. You can do this by right-clicking on the sims 2 in your Origin Library and then selecting Game properties. Then go to the Advanced tab and type in -w in order to make the game launch in windowed mode. Then apply the changes.
