So, step by step, (i) R#1 has one wire patched into one of the bulb wires, (2) R#1 second wire connected to one wire on R#2 ( in series with R#1), and (3) remaining wire on R#2 connected back to other bulb wire so the set of resistors is in parallel with the bulb. Should give 12 ohms on each side for each bulb circuit.
To replace the bulb on the left side of the car as you look at it, right side if you're sat in it (ie: the side that doesn't have the battery) isn't much of a problem, simply remove the back of the headlamp, unclip the wiring and remove the bulb (turn the clip holding it in clockwise), swap it with the new one and put it all back together.

Nobody makes an LED that mimics the arc of the xenon bulb so theyre all out of focus and weak in comparison. I recommend Osram CBI if you want a light beam thats more blue or Philips Xtreme vision (what i run) if you want more true white
