The S1000R hits 60 mph at around 9000 rpm in first gear so like many superbikes the S1000R hits 60 mph with much more rpm and power to go.

BMW's ridiculously strong S1000RR engine is still unmatched, with this year's version pumping out 10 more horses than our tester from 2010. The ZX-10R's top-end pull is unfortunately neutered to pass sound-emissions regulations. The drop in power is clear on the dyno chart, too.

Ever see them match almost perfectly at the tippy top? Mine is funky. 8mph off at 80 (gps read 72) 10mph off at 165 (gps read 155.6) and only two tenths off at 183 (gps read 182.8).
