Not sure if 308 rear seats are on runners, on 307 sw and my old 807 you could only unlock seat with them in the fully back position. I had the same problem . Hold down the release catch on the back of the seat while putting all of your weight above the locked foot.. It should click in to place.

As far as teh 7 seat question, my understanding is this; 307 Estate no 6/7 seat mounts and no 6/7 seat belts. 307 SW 6/7 seat fixings and has 6/7 seat belts. Basically if it has the bootspace seatbelts it has teh rearmost seat fixings. Both models had independent and sliding rear seats. Hope this helps.
