6 posts · Joined 2009. #1 · Jul 12, 2009. I have just joined the forum and looking for your help with my 2004 X5. It slight vibrates when I accelerate at a speed around 50-55 or at 70 mph. This happens on uphill and only when I accelerate. The vibration can be felt more thru gas pedal rather than steering wheel.

Do n Re-insert the motor and bolt back together. This should give you, say another 65k miles (when mine failed) or so before you likely have to replace the actuator. Re-install on your transfer case, and voila! you should be good to go with only an hour or so of your time wasted instead of time and 900 bucks.
I had a problem for some time with the gears not changing up when after driving for about an hour (Brisbane, Australia) on my 2001 X5 (E53). Often it would get stuck in 2nd and not change or would only change to 3rd at 80km and 4th over 100km per hour.
