Since seeing this post I've filled the fuel filter prior to cranking. Still no joy. I'm fairly certain that there is air in the system. I get the impression that the fuel pump isnt trying to draw fuel from the filter. Priming fuel is drawn from the fuel tank via the 12mm male outlet on the filter housing. Vacuum is applied via a waste bottle until fuel begins to flow into the waste bottle. Fuel filter replacement problem. I´ve just tried to replace fuel filter paper element on my mondeo 2.0 TDCi but with no success. The problem was when I was emptying the fuel filter by draining bolt at the bottom of filter, diesel hadn´t stop flowing from it.
